There are beautiful venues throughout the island with all kinds of views and settings.  If you do not find something that matches your vision, we have additional venues we can send to you as well.  These include camping possibilities for your guests or an ocean view that you may need to hike to.  The links we have recommended are locations many of our Quintessa guests have used.  We are happy to house you and your guests for lodging as we are close to many of these venues.

Wedding Fees for The Quintessa
(Includes 3 kitchens, 2 dining rooms, 20 extra chairs & 4 folding tables, wine glasses and more!)

A ceremony and reception includes a 3 to 7 night stay in The Quintessa Estate, including both The Cottage and the Seaside PLUS with overnight accommodations for up to 36 guests.

  • 3-night events are for Sept 16th through May 31st - Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s excluded: $6,500
  • 7-night events are for June 1st through Sept 15th: $14,500

* The Quintessa allows 3 weddings per year.

For on-site events such as Rehearsal Dinners and/or Sunday Brunch, our usage/event fee is just a fraction of the cost of the on-site wedding fee ~ this fee ($500 for a Rehearsal Dinner and $250 for a Farewell Brunch) does not apply if the event consists of just the guests already lodging at The Quintessa (36 maximum), or if you are already having your wedding on-site  :D  At all of these events, we ask that you keep your numbers to 50 guests in total.

There are many wonderful venues on Whidbey for your ceremony and reception.  We are located conveniently to most of these venues.  This would allow you to choose from a variety of venues while keeping The Quintessa for your lodging needs.

Fully equipped for cooking:  the House has 2 full sized kitchens with 2 refrigerators, 3 ovens, 2 stoves, 3 microwaves, 3 toasters, 3 coffee makers, and 3 air pots!

The Cottage has a full kitchen … separate shower and jetted tub with bath salts, cozy electric fireplace, deck with a view of Puget Sound and overlooks The Quintessa gardens.  This quaint home is equipped with a queen bed, a sofa bed, and extra twin mattress with a frame (2-5 guests can sleep there).  For more information and details about The Cottage, go to TheQuintessa.com and click on the Suites page, then onto The Cottage for a slideshow at the upper right.

* Need more room?  Ask us about our newest PLUS unit (studio with 1 bath sleeps 4) and our neighbor’s place, Fernside (2 bedroom 2 bath sleeps 6)!

We provide all bedding (linens and towels), bath liquids (shampoo, conditioner, soap) so that you and/or your out-of-town family do not have to travel with that, some paper products (toilet paper, paper towels, napkins) including saran wrap and foil in the kitchen, and spices.  Our kitchens are stocked (we encourage cooking for family and group bonding) with pots, pans, bowls, trays, platters, dishes, glasses, silverware, wine glasses for about 50.  We also have extras such as 2 crock pots, a blender, mixer, pitchers, a warming tray and two pancake makers.

We have two round weber grills for BBQ ~ please bring your own charcoal.  Seasonally, our garden has fruit, vegetables, and herbs for your use.  We have a high chair and both a bassinet and a Pack 'N Play for babies.  There are 4 six foot folding tables that can be taken outside for more dining plus 25 portable chairs.  That is in addition to the many tables and chairs we have outside on the decks for outdoor dining.  Enjoy indoor and outdoor games!

❤ Our heart defibrillator is located in the entryway.
* Note: There is a $500 discount for lodging on week-long stays (7 nights) !

Although The Quintessa is likely among the most popular lodging choices on Whidbey Island, it is only one of many beautiful wedding venues available on the island.

Below is a list of our favorite island wedding venues!  They vary in terms of size of party, whether they have a barn or indoor space, whether they carry tables, chairs, outdoor tents, china, utensils, linens, props.  Questions to ask would be regarding restroom facilities (septic), parking, rain contingencies, what kinds of equipment do they already have (and what do you still need to rent), do they have a minimum / maximum requirement as far as rental time is concerned, and what are you able to do past the Island Sound Curfew of 10:00 pm.

Most of these alternative venues have similar event fees to The Quintessa but some can host up to 250 guests while we are limited to 45 guests.

(Mention The Quintessa when contacting these sites to better assist them)

For tents and other supplies (tables, chairs, china, utensils, linen), contact:
  • Wendy at Double R Rental
  • Mary Jo at http://www.diamondrentals.org (rustic vintage chic props)

Michael Stadler at Stadler Photography is our favorite island photographer.  He has a patient way with children and adults alike, and his pictures come out looking very beautiful and natural.  Most of our weddings and many of our family reunions have used Michael.

Marina Villarreal at Coupeville Florist also has some beautiful arrangements.

If you would like some guitar music, Quinn Fitzpatrick is an island favorite.

For a swing jazz ensemble, Kristi O'Donnell at Trio Nouveau is the musician to contact.

For transportation to and from the airport, and also to and from your venue and your accommodations, please see Whidbey Shuttle.  Request the "Ken's Korner" (or "Langley/Clinton") stop in Clinton.

For the ferry, you will want to use the Mukilteo/Clinton schedule.

We also have a taxi service on the island who can take you from the ferry to The Quintessa or from Ken's Korner to The Quintessa:

Overflow cars from The Quintessa can be parked at The Little Brown Church down the hill.  Please contact them first to see if they have availability that weekend, and if they are still going by donation or whether they have a fee this year.  Their names are George and Lila Mills 360.579.2007 or email them at gwmills@comcast.net.

Billy Ducharme at Island Concierge can put up and take down your wedding or Rehearsal dinner.  This gives you the option of spending quality time saying goodbye, relaxing, and reflecting on your day rather than having to clean up, rinse dishes or take down tables and chairs.

We are here to help you with your Whidbey Wedding Experience, and we look forward to hearing from you!  Please feel free to call us if you have any questions about The Quintessa and Whidbey Island, if you would like to take a tour, or if you would like to book a stay with us!
The Quintessa on Whidbey Island love forever dog together

Wedding photos by Michael Stadler

"We chose to host our families and close friends at the Quintessa for our Wedding this May.
If I had to do it over again, I'd come back to The Quintessa in a heartbeat!

Not only are the grounds beautiful (the vines and flowers were blooming and full of greenery),
but Carrie and Tessa were so helpful and attentive.
They truly helped make our wedding and stay perfect and memorable.
They think of all the small touches when they prepared the house for our family stay thanks to the Welcome sign, special message book and lots of resources within the house to enjoy the surrounding Whidbey area and the house.

We had a full house with multiple families and kids ranging from 4 months to 9 years old.
There was always something for the kids to enjoy thanks to their treasure trove of toys in the basement as well as the main floor
(made for some cute videos and photos). Air Hockey kept the older kids entertained as well as the costumes.
The grounds were great as well for exploring and enjoying nature.
In addition, the lush and beautiful landscaping made for BEAUTIFUL WEDDING photos and backgrounds!

It's also in a great location to go exploring. We traveled north to Deception Pass and decided on the 1 hour tour by Deception Pass Tours. We got a treat when we were 15 minutes out and were surrounded by Orcas!!! This was a truly magical experience on Whidbey. When we had last minute items we forgot, Carrie and Tessa came through right away!

As a bride, I don't think I had any stress thanks to their well stocked and thought out home and fast reactions.
I can't thank them enough for a wonderful experience."
